Random acts of kindness
Kindness is a random act now.
Like the time I gave my parking space to a stranger.
Or took the bins out for my neighbour.
Just last week I said
“have a lovely day”
to the man in the shop,
and I know it made him smile,
although I am pretty sure he won’t.
It’s ok, kindness is a random act now.
Kindness is a random act now.
So do not expect more of someone
than you are willing to give yourself.
Ask are you ok, and wait for the answer.
Never reply “you’ll feel better after…”
Because how would you know?
And anyway, kindness is a random act now.
Kindness is a random act now.
So we should stand up,
stand against, or stand for.
Be someone who cannot stand to allow one more.
And choose instead to be urgently kind.
Because now is the time that is no longer the time
for random acts of kindness.
